Mark Hoppus, the bassist and co-lead singer from American rock band Blink-182, recently revealed that he has been diagnosed with cancer and that he has been receiving treatment for three months. "It sucks and I'm scared," he wrote.

Hoppus took to social media to break the news to his followers on Wednesday. "For the past three months, I've been undergoing chemotherapy for cancer. I have cancer," he wrote.

"It sucks and I'm scared, and at the same time I'm blessed with incredible doctors and family and friends to get me through this," he said. "I still have months of treatment ahead of me but I'm trying to remain hopeful and positive," said the musician.

"Can't wait to be cancer-free and see you all at a concert in the near future. Love to you all."

Later, Hoppus uploaded another picture to his Instagram stories where he is seen strapped up for "cancer treatment," ready with his PlayStation 5. It is a difficult journey but we're glad to see he's approaching it so positively.

Hoppus' ex-bandmate Tom DeLonge revealed that he had been aware of his friend's illness. "To add to his own words that he used today, I would also like to say that he is strong, and a super-human who is pushing through this difficult obstacle with a wide-open heart," he wrote on Twitter.

A cancer diagnosis is tough news to receive and the journey ahead scary, but we hope to see Hoppus keep his optimism and positive attitude throughout his battle.
