Muneeb Butt and Amar Khan set to lead ARY's upcoming drama Baddua
Muneeb Butt and Amar Khan have confirmed that they're appearing in an upcoming ARY drama series, titled Baddua, under the direction of Jhooti director Ramish Rizvi. The two have previously starred together in HUM TV's Choti Choti Batain.
The drama is Khan's first collaboration with ARY and is being produced by Abdullah Seja. Baddua has been written by Samina Ijaz, who has Yaariyan and Kaisa Hai Naseeban under her belt.
Khan spoke to Images about the new drama. Speaking about her character, Khan said she's a girl who is strong, lively and a go-getter. "She's somebody who's opinionated. She finds herself shackled, but how she breaks free from that is admirable," she explained.
"It is a very powerful role. It is an interesting story that has a lot of twist and turns, which is very eventful. Muneeb's character is also unlike what she [Samina Ijaz] has written before. It is going to be a very interesting story between the two lead characters, who both have equally strong personalities and their own set of principles and interests."
She said figuring out the meaning of the name of the drama will be a thrill on its own. "What is this baddua? Who's is this buddua? Who is it intended for?" she invited fans to guess.
The Ghughi actor reveal she had rejected several scripts over the last four months and had been in search of something that was different from anything she's ever done before. Baddua met that aspiration.
Other cast members include Samina Ahmed, Mehmood Aslam and Rubina Ashraf.
The show, Khan said, would air in the next two to three months.
