STARZPLAY by Cinepax, Pakistan’s fastest-growing streaming service, has been keeping the country entertained with new blockbuster releases coming out almost every month.

The platform only recently launched Power Book II: Ghost, season two of The Spanish Princess, Hulu’s Emmy-winning and critically acclaimed series The Act, Angeline Malik’s hilarious short film Khushkhabri Kay Baad, season 10 of The Walking Dead, and last but not the least, STARZPLAY’s first original comedy series Khel Tamasha.

The streaming service is now announcing a partnership with Deutsche Welle (DW), Germany’s leading international broadcaster, to launch three documentary series: ‘#PakistanIs’, ‘HER’ and ‘Unseen’.

What's in store for June 2021?

Here's all the platform will be showcasing this month:

HER - Women in Asia

An English series that focuses on untold stories of women in Asia; their lives, experiences, the challenges they face, and the things that both link and distinguish them.

All six episodes will be available to stream on the STARZPLAY app and website.

Here's a little peek into the series:

Pakistan Is

A mini-docuseries that features popular vlogger, Eva zu Beck, and covers her travels in Pakistan and how she experiences the culture, talent, food and diversity of the country.

Unseen

Unseen is an offering that will open your eyes to beastly challenges and promising solutions.

It’s about the invisible guests in your food, your hometown and those unhealthy dust particles hiding inside your lungs.

Discover heroes who offer amazing solutions – and inspiration for a better life.

“We are excited to be joining hands with a partner like STARZPLAY to reach out to Pakistan’s diverse audience who are interested in both entertainment as well as informative, valuable content,” said Daniel Schulz, distribution manager for DW in Asia. “Our goal is to promote versatility and ensure that real-life stories on important topics like women empowerment, cultural diversity, environment, technology and sustainability are accessible to people across the globe.”

STARZPLAY is driven to promoting unique content

STARZPLAY loves to highlight locally produced content that Pakistani users are eager to watch. Considering the fact that online content consumption continues to grow strongly during the pandemic-induced lockdown amid restricted social activities, STARZPLAY feels committed to promoting not just international but local content as well.

Recently launched local content for STARZPLAY includes Khushkhabri Kay Baad, a hilarious but thought-provoking short film directed by Angeline Malik and Khel Tamasha, an original comedy series directed by Jawad Bashir. STARZPLAY is also working on another original series which will launch on Eidul Azha.

Arif BaigMohamed, chairman Cinepax Group, stated, “To bring diverse content to Pakistan, STARZPLAY has always rejoiced in joining hands with friends across the globe. We take pride in promoting local content and also familiarising locals with international content, enabling people to learn about different cultures and arts. STARZPLAY is working on a few exciting collaborations this year which will keep you glued to your STARZPLAY screens.”
