The K-pop group described 'Butter' as "a dance pop track brimming with the smooth yet charismatic charm of BTS."

BTS, arguably the most well-known K-Pop band in the world, has released its latest track, 'Butter', which has sent fans into a frenzy. The seven-member boyband dropped a teaser earlier this week, which excited fans, and even got a stamp of approval from one of history's most iconic musical acts, British band Queen.

“We never actually expected that we were going to release another single, but the virus is getting longer and longer so we thought we need another summer song. We thought we needed another summer number, and 'Butter' was perfectly fit for that. And now we’re here,” BTS' leader RM told Apple Music.

In a press release, the group described 'Butter' as "a dance pop track brimming with the smooth yet charismatic charm of BTS."

You can stream the song on YouTube.

BTS will be performing their TV debut for 'Butter' at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards. The awards, hosted by Nick Jonas, will be held on Sunday, May 23. It will be aired live on NBC from the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles.

Following the Billboard smashing 'Dynamite' in 2020, 'Butter' comes as the South Korean band's second English language song, and promises to repeat the feat. BTS earned their first Grammy nomination for the pop duo/group performance category with 'Dynamite', though eventually falling short and losing to Ariana Grande and Lady Gaga's collaboration 'Rain on Me'.

Language is not where the similarities between the two songs ends, the synth-laden dance pop song 'Butter', like 'Dynamite', features Jenna Andrews among the writers. Other names in the list are Alex Bilowitz, Rob Grimaldi, RM, Stephen Kirk, Ron Perry and Sebastian Garcia. Grimaldi, Kirk and Perry also served as the producers.

BTS released a 23-second long black and white teaser three days prior to the song's release, exciting fans and successfully bagging brag-worthy attention.

The band's teaser was picked by the previously Freddie Mercury led band Queen. The intro to 'Butter' is reminiscent of Queen's uber-hit 'Another One Bites the Dust', and the veterans took note of that. The official account for the British act retweeted BTS, calling the song "Another One Bites The Dust x #BTS_Butter", and quoting lyrics from it, "Are you ready, hey are you ready for this.."

The retweet has since been brought down.

The group has been teasing its new release on Instagram too, with group photos and individual portraits in posts that now sport millions of likes individually.

BTS has earned great fame globally, and gained a massive following in every country their music has touched, including Pakistan. Fans here have fallen in love with 'Butter', and haven't held back their delight at its release — they seem to love everything about it.

There is no doubting BTS' fame across the world, and there are definite signs that they might once again top the Billboard charts with their second English song. What is still in question though, is whether the seven-member act from South Korea will finally win their first Grammy with 'Butter'. What do you think?
