Khalid Malik, an integral part of the soul of the 2000s radio scene in Pakistan, is back and this time with an additional video component. The Mayyari Entertainment Show will be hosted by Malik and has already started airing as of Wednesday.

Did you miss the signature and as yet unfathomable energy Malik would bring to his City FM89 show — The Breakfast Show — at 7am? His jokes, his iconic voice, or his edging-to-crazy personality? If yes, then boy are you in luck.

Malik's initial announcement came earlier this month via an Instagram post. "Pakistan ka sabse bada new brand show [Pakistan's biggest new brand show]," he proclaimed the Mayyari Entertainment Show with Khalid Malik.

Malik described the show as one "jahan mayyar gaya bhaar main [where quality can take a hike]" in the accompanying promo, announcing he will be hosting mayyari and ghair mayyari guests as part of the concept.

Speaking to Images, Malik elaborated on the concept of the show. He said he will "basically be making fun of what we see on TV today," adding that each episode will feature two guests. "A mayyari guest, who will be a celebrity, and a ghair mayyari guest, who will be a random person, wanting to have their voice heard.

"It's a show about highlighting people who are doing something for society or being affected by current situations," Malik explained.

The six-and-a-half-minute long first episode of the show aired on Wednesday and featured musician Junaid Khan as the mayyari guest, while a college student appeared as the ghair mayyar guest. In an Instagram post, Malik later asked his fans what they thought of the episode.

We can't lie, it's quite exciting to see Malik back with new content. There is no doubt to his dedication or his talent for entertaining a wide array of people and we expect to see some great content in the coming days.
