The series may be seven years old but Ertugrul fever in Pakistan is as fresh as ever, with local celebrities thriving off some amiable collaborations and fun-filled travels to Turkey as the two countries talk friendship and entertainment.

Ever since the historical series aired in Pakistan, many developed an interest in the Ottoman Empire, keen to explore Turkey in all its glory. The latest celebrity to venture on an excursion to Turkey is actor and producer Reema Khan, who is currently spending time with the team of Ertugrul in Istanbul.

"Received a very warm welcome from Mr Kemal Tekden and his Daughter Nurbanu (production team of Ertugural Ghazi) in Istanbul," she posted on Instagram.

Accompanying her are Humayun Saeed and Adnan Siddiqui, with the trio spotted indulging in some tasty street food.

In an announcement some months ago, the duo had revealed that a cross-cultural collaboration was underway. Tekdin Films had signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Dr Kashif Ansari of Ansari Films, and TRT Films, which would lead to a collective project based on the Khilafat Movement.

The pictures suggest that Reema is also attending some important meetings for the Pak-Turk collaborative series Lala Turki.

"Attended a very important meeting with Tekden Film in Istanbul," she had posted, followed by pictures of dinners with the two teams and a visit to the graveyard of Turk Lala Peshawari.

Previously, Ertugul star Engin Altan Duzayatan made his way to Pakistan, which has contributed towards his skyrocketing success, on the invitation of a private business. Following his visit, a Turkish delegation too made its way to Pakistan.

Siddiqui had shared glimpses of the wonderful evening on social media, posing alongside Mere Paas Tum Ho co-star Saeed — the duo having a fan-moment with guest actor Celal AL aka Abdur Rehman Alp.

Seems like the friends have reunited and are enjoying each other's company to the fullest. As for us, we're living vicariously through their social media posts and waiting to see what's coming next.

@Mashaal The "Saas Bahu" TV industry deserves to be destroyed. History shows us again and again that if you don't innovate in a business-centric environment, you will get put into the ground. The Turkish industry brought something new for viewers and they loved it.

@SecondPilot Their actors will visit Pakistan because they've realized that's where a large consumer market lies for them. Anyway, if you want to see "forced", check out Indian acting.

'Seems like the friends have reunited and are enjoying each other's company to the fullest.' Its natural as we have blood, cultural and historical affiliations. Infact, all of South Asia, including Indian union has proud Turkish links as all were ruled by Turks.

@Thinking After India snub and UK zero response adnan is sticking to turkey' India is now sidelined, no one wants to go that declining industry. Even British are going to Turkey for collaborations.

@Mashaal Rubbish. Pakistanis identified with Turk culture and history very similar to ours. Now collaboration will raise the industry as a whole.
