@Paddy like Kamala Harris?why then the village where her ancesstors were born celebrated her winning?Kamala was not even born in India. She saw India once at age of 5 and thats all. Why did you have celebratiins on her American vote victory?double standards? Very sad and petty.

@Paddy - he is both Pakistani and American. Why is it that when a Pakistani gets success abroad our neighbours are quick to retort that the person in question is not Pakistani. He was born in Lahore, brought up in Lahore and attended Achison College, Lahore. So he is both Pakistani and American. His art reflects his being a Pakistani. How can he not be Pakistani any more? Stop taking credit! - we are giving credit to him Sour Puss!

@Paddy Thats plain silly. You just have to look at his work to see that his cultural background and the local visual traditions that inform his work. The only credit for his work goes to him so lets just celebrate that and hope he continues to explore his artistic potential.

@paddy You are pretty far off base. This article is celebrating the artist's Pakistani heritage, which would apply even had he been born in the US, which he wasn't. He was born in Lahore, so he was, and still is, a Lahori.

@Paddy he probably is dual national Pakistani and American. He will be Pakistani first because that passport can’t be revoked due to birth right. American passport is a privilege if he naturalized. So I would say Toor will be Pakistani first and American second ( just like first born and second born concept) :))
