Riz Ahmed is a married man and we're all just finding out!
In an episode of podcast Grounded with Louis Theroux, the 38-year-old actor revealed that he tied the knot "not very long" ago.
As the subject of marriage was brought up during the conversation, the Mogul Mowgli actor revealed he decided to stay in California after completing a film there since his "wife's family" is from the Bay Area.
The information caught everyone off guard, including host Louis Theroux who "didn't realise" Ahmed wasn't single and went on to ask how long he had been married.
"Not very long, actually," Riz declared, joking that it was "the first time I've ever mentioned it in an interview, so congratulations on this incredibly exciting scoop."
The Reluctant Fundamentalist actor elaborated that he didn't think his personal life was relevant to the work he did.
"I mean, I guess I don't really feel it's generally that relevant, so I don't delve into my personal life or my dating history or even family life much," he continued, adding that it was just about having boundaries.
Obviously startled at the news, fans shared some hilarious reactions on Twitter.
