Karachi's Burns Road will now be a food street for pedestrians to enjoy

The new food street will start from Fresco Chowk and go on all the way to Fatima Jinnah Women's College.

Deputy commissioner and administrator DMC (South) Irshad Ali has announced the launch of new food street in Karachi.

From 10 January, 2021, Karachi's iconic Burns Road food street will be designated for pedestrians to move around and enjoy yummy grub.

Shahrah-e-Liaquat from Fresco to Court Road will be blocked by 7pm for traffic, daily, as specified by UC administration South.

Vehicles coming from Araam Bagh to Fresco will be diverted towards M.A Jinnah road and People's Square instead.

The new food street will start from Fresco Chowk and go all the way to Fatima Jinnah Women's College.

Residents will be provided stickers as proof of vehicle parking, the district administration announced.

Furthermore, anyone willing to visit the food street will be given the facility of valet parking.

In case of emergencies, an exit is also planned for escape.

All arrangements will be made for after 7pm, with the aim of providing a clean and hygienic environment and exemplary services as priority for all citizens.
