Shaan Shahid thinks Madam Noor Jehan's house should be turned into a museum

Shahid was irked by the government's decision to restore ancestral homes of legendary actors Raj Kapoor and Dilip Kumar in KPK

Shaan Shahid is quite the patriot, that much is no secret.

So it's no surprise that the actor wasn't too happy when the government announced reserving Rs50 million for restoration of historical sites in KPK, including the ancestral homes of iconic Bollywood actors Raj Kapoor and Dilip Kumar.

"Madam Noor Jehan's house has become a plaza... Sad our legends deserve it too," he tweeted.

When Vasay Chaudhry pointed out that she sold that house on her own volition, Shahid suggested that the government should've paid for the house and turned it into a museum.

The Jawani Phir Nahi Aani actor still didn't see Shaan's point and shared that he respectfully disagrees.

"The government commemorated her with civil awards and other accolades in her lifetime. It was her private property and buying her house (especially when she was not even in the need for money) doesn't make sense, given the economic situation of our country," he said.

Other than Kapoor and Kumar, other well-known celebs with roots in Peshawar include Shah Rukh Khan and Vinod Khanna.

Ashfaq Ahmad and Bano Qudsia’s house should be preserved and prevented from becoming a plaza in future . Food for thought for Punjab Govt Pakistan’s plaza culture is taking a toll on so many historic sites !!

I think there should be a mega website dedicated to the works of MNJ and other greats, like Malika Pukhraj, Roshan Ara Begum etc, instead of a physical space which requires more money and staff. The Govt should pay for this website and manage the content.

Shan is a day late, how about getting her family, madam noor Jehan on board when she passed away with your suggestion, in real time! Her family sold her house and other assests! How about building a museum for artists of Pakistan , with specific areas high lightening their great talents . Do the hard work Shan, blaming gov’t for everything is to easy. If the gov’t restore the houses of BW, then turn them into museums to incoperate sections of Pakistani artists plus develop parks and restraurants to make it a trourst attraction, will be great for the local economy !
