After hoping and praying for nearly a day that Zara Abid survived the PIA A320 plane crash, those who know the model woke up to the news that only two male passengers had been recovered.

97 passengers onboard Pakistan International Airlines flight PK-8303, which crashed in Karachi on its way from Lahore yesterday, have been confirmed dead by Sindh government officials; Abid was one of them.

Upon hearing the news, people from the entertainment and fashion industry were grief-stricken. Many posted pictures with her, others remembered her for her smile.

As a dark-skinned model, she was challenging conventional beauty standards; Abid won Best Female Model at the Hum Style Awards just earlier this year and was truly a trailblazer. She was all set to make her cinematic debut with Azeem Sajjad's Chaudhry.

Zara is in thought and prayer. Wishing her family and friends strength and patience during this difficult time.

M.Emad- This was not an old aircraft, only 15-year-old and in great working condition. One of the newer in the fleet!

@Umer Khawaja then why did both its engines fail in air and why did the wheels not come out for landing? Twice? Have you listened to the final distress mayday call by the pilot? PIA has before been exposed in flying new planes with old engines.
