This 12-year-old girl is the first Pakistani to win at figure skating

Mallak Zafar started skating at the age of five and hopes to represent Pakistan at the Winter Olympics in the future.

12-year-old Mallak Faisal Zafar became the first Pakistani to win first-place laurels for figure skating this week at the 24th International Eiscup Inssbruck, Austria's largest figure skating competition in the Basic Novice Girls II category.

Mallak came out ahead in the two-day competition, where she represented Spain, against 22 skaters from Italy and Austria, among other countries.

Mallak, who is currently based in Dubai, only started skating at the age of five and hopes to represent Pakistan at the Winter Olympics in the future. She has also conducted training camps for youngsters in Karachi and Islamabad in June 2019.
