After successful runs in Punjab, the Women On Wheels campaign is coming to Sindh this Sunday on November 24, 2019.

The programme, which empowers women by improving their access to mobility, provides subsidised motorbikes for women, as well as training and road safety lessons and networking opportunities.

Women On Wheels is a project of the Salman Sufi Foundation and the team behind the successful implementation of the WoW campaign in Lahore, Multan, Sargodha, Rawalpindi and Faisalabad is now expanding the initiative to Karachi in a private capacity, with support from the Sindh government, Japan, UN Development Programme, UN Women, FINCA and Careem.

Registration is still ongoing, so you can still sign up!

Here’s what you need to know

Who else is going?

Shehla Raza, Minister For Women Development Sindh, is signed up too.

WOW indeed!

Why should you go?

Also, you can live out this dream too

It's a bit anachronistic that the bikes shown in the pics are so tackey ...almost like the cheap junk. Don't you have worlds big brands selling two wheelers there ?? In India, 65 percent of Honda, Suzuki, Hero, TVS two Wheeler buyers are girls. Every city here you will find hundreds of girls on two wheelers. The motorcycle is not designed for women, although many drive it here too. Scooters are more fun and have massive underwear storage for helmets and other stuff too.

In China, a lot of women ride the bikes, without even being noticed, they are just part of the community, and are not harassed.

@Zala, this is not only needed because Inflation is rising faster than ever before. It’s needed because, Pakistan is a country where majority of our women are financially dependent on the male in their families. If we don’t include women in our workforce, Pakistan will always stay poor. So we need women to break the shackles, come our of their comfort zone and play their part in making this country prosperous.
