With Joker crossing the billion dollar mark at the box office, Todd Philips has big plans for his future in the DC Entertainment Universe.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the director is in talks for a sequel to the Joaquin Phoenix starrer. However, Philips has previously expressed a disinterest in making a part two for the film and has declined to comment on the matter so far. Only time will tell.
While Phoenix is unsure to return as Arthur Fleck, the filmmaker has proposed a grand idea to Warner Brothers; the rights to develop a portfolio of DC characters' origin stories.
For DC the next film in the works is a Batman movie starring Robert Pattinson which is slated for a 2021 release while Wonder Woman is getting ready for her sequel's release in 2020.
