After announcing their engagement, and wrapping up Hum TV's Aangan, Sajal Aly and Ahad Raza Mir are gearing up to star in a web series together.

Drama Dhoop Ki Deewar is inspired by true events and includes a take on the relationship between India and Pakistan. Written by Umera Ahmed, the drama is based on the occupied Kashmir and Pulwama attacks, with an attempt to show what the families of martyred officers and soldiers go through during such times.

Director Haseeb Hassan revealed to Images that, "Sajal Aly will play the teenage daughter of a Pakistani colonel, who will be played by Adnan Jafar. Her mother will be played by Savera Nadeem."

"Manzar Sehbai will play her grandfather. He is flying from Berlin just to do this character. Samina Ahmed will play her dadi."

He added, "Samiya Mumtaz will play Ahad's mother and Zaib Rehman, his grandmother. We have a few actors portraying Indians like Zara Tareen and Paras Masroor."

Previously, Hassan had said, "Dhoop Ki Deewar is not a love story: it is a love-hate story based on the love-hate relationship between people of India and Pakistan. That's the only way WE can write and read a love story between these two people."

"That's what almost 70 years of unending hatred does to people and their sensibilities. And the most difficult thing for a writer in the subcontinent is to write an Indo-Pak love story.”

According to Hassan, "We're still shooting. The Karachi spell is almost complete. After that, we'll be moving to Swat, then Kashmir and then Lahore."

While there is no release date yet, the director did say Dhoop Ki Deewar is "expected to air in December".

@isha The whole nation feels that way, madam. But for some, everything is secondary to that one thing.

Good initiative. We should take the first step in promoting peace, unlike the Indian media that unfortunately only focuses on hate.

This concept of Pakistan o Hind love-love has been tested out from time to time with zero results. Both countries want peace on their own terms and RSS inspired BJP politicians do not want peace at all. It is time we got out from Disneyland and looked at things rationally.
