Game of Thrones creators, David Benioff and Dan Weiss, have signed a long term content deal with Netflix.

Sources revealed to Hollywood Reporter that the pair has signed a $200 million multi-year pact with Netflix, which was bidding for the duo's future projects alongside other streaming sites such as Disney+ and Amazon.

Under the pact, Benioff and Weiss will stop producing new content for HBO and create and release their upcoming content on Netflix instead. So far, there is no news on what the content will be or whether it will be related to Game of Thrones.

Netflix chief content officer, Ted Sarandos confirmed the news of the duo coming aboard the streaming service, saying, "We are thrilled to welcome master storytellers David Benioff and Dan Weiss to Netflix. They are a creative force and have delighted audiences worldwide with their epic storytelling. We can’t wait to see what their imaginations will bring to our members."

According to the duo, "We’ve had a beautiful run with HBO for more than a decade and we’re grateful to everyone there for always making us feel at home. Over the past few months, we’ve spent many hours talking to Cindy Holland and Peter Friedlander, as well as Ted Sarandos and Scott Stuber."

"We remember the same shots from the same '80s movies; we love the same books; we’re excited about the same storytelling possibilities. Netflix has built something astounding and unprecedented, and we're honored they invited us to join them."

Benioff and Weiss have not revealed any of the projects that will go on Netflix. For now, the two are working on the next Star Wars trilogy.
