FIR registered against Mohsin Abbas for wife’s torture

Case was registered a day after both of the parties appeared before the SP Cantt and submitted their written statements.
Updated 24 Jul, 2019

The Defence police on Tuesday registered a case against actor Mohsin Abbas Haider after a week-long fight between him and his wife Fatema Sohail on social media.

The FIR has been registered under Section 406 (criminal breach of trust) and Section 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Pakistan Penal Code and included charges of hurling life threats on the complainant.

The case was registered a day after both of the parties appeared before the SP Cantt and submitted their written statements besides evidences to prove their stance.

In the FIR, Fatema alleged that some four years back, Mohsin turned offensive towards her over some issues and misbehaved with her on several occasions.

It also transpired that he had some illicit relations with a woman, she alleged and stated that he had asked her to bring money from her parents to run a business. She said her father gave her Rs5m, which she handed over to Mohsin.

Sometime later, when she asked Mohsin about the business and the payment, he abused her and threatened her of dire consequences. She alleged that Mohsin had pressurised her to bring Rs5m more from her parents and on refusal to do so, he started beating her.

On Nov 26 last year, she claimed, she caught him red-handed while cheating on her and when confronted, he subjected her to torture, leaving many injuries on her face and other parts of body despite knowing that she was pregnant. She said on July 17 this month, she went to his house in Defence Housing Authority to demand from him her money as she had already decided to go for separation.

At this, Mohsin manhandled her and she called her brother on the spot who rescued her when her husband was about to shoot her with a weapon.

She asked the police for recovery of her payment and action against Mohsin on the basis of medical examination report she had already submitted with the police. A police source said Mohsin had got pre-arrest bail from the court.

Update: Mohsin Abbas appeared in a sessions court in Lahore earlier today where he was granted anticipatory bail; the court accepted the bail plea on bonds of Rs50,000. The court has also asked Defence C Police Station where Fatema Sohail, his ex-wife has lodged the case of domestic abuse, for a detailed report and said the next hearing will be on 5 August, 2019.

@Asad Whatever the reason, domestic violence is NOT acceptable. If the two people involved cannot sort it out, bring in the elders from both the sides to hep. Go to the court, if need be. But in no circumstance, a man has a right to physically abuse the wife.

@Asad totally agree. Every women will already be taking sides that he should be punished etc. But lets see what the truth is first. I was also in a similar situation, to a much lesser extent. I had to prove I was being framed through technology. Women want fair treatment, and it should be. But in such cases they expect to jump the line without finding out the truth first.

Police must dig inside the whole story before jumping to any conclusion. No matter who is harasser and who is victim, but Justice must prevail.

@Asad Two sides sure but nothing justifies violence. If there is a problem, just end it. Go separate ways. Important thing here is authenticity of these allegations rather than why he did it.

"She called her brother on the spot who rescued her when her husband was about to shoot her with a weapon." This is the height of abuse. How could that be a "Love Marriage"? Is it not a big insult to those who watch his films, dramas and programs, believing him what he displays on screen being close to his nature?

Beating his wife is one of the most cowardly act. He is lucky that he is not in Canada. Just one call to 911 and the cops show up at the door in 2mins and he would be behind bars and further with a restraining order to stay away from his wife 500feet or else serve again a severe jail terms. Such strict laws should be implemented or put into action in Pakistan right away for all domestic abuses. And why the hell he demanded RS5million from his wife. What was he doing with his earnings from TV dramas /movies and shows ? He is such a jerk and a pervert piece of garbage.

The anger in public is rising only because his wife gave all the evidence against him for which he could not clarify or defend himself. He must be punished for what he did is not acceptable at all. This man did not show concern about his own child during this whole chaos isn't that enough to say what type of a person he is.

And he is still being seen on TV. Why not end his career? Why not boycott his movies and dramas with no future offers? He should learn a lesson. Go back where you belong Mr Mohsin and stay there. Enough of your pathetic comedy and acting.

I am sure that it is a plotted conspiracy against Mohsin Abbas Haider; he is such a nice and gentle man and many times women took leverage of their cry and hide behind the social evil to blackmail their husbands whereas the actual reasons behind their marital-relationship is entirely different. many were JEALOUS of MA Haider and....... I wish him quick relief and recovery from this dilemma.

There may be two sides of the story but NO ONE has the right to physically abuse the spouse in ANY circumstance. Raising hand on your wife makes you least of a man. Shame to those husbands who try to defend this act.

Crime have no gender, it should not be a guy beat a woman instead personalities involved and their traits. Are all men bad? Or all women saints? Does domestic abuse always mean husband abusing wife?can't their be a situation where wife is more abusive than husband she may not get involved in physical fights with male due to physical limitations but there are countless way to abuse not just physical.

Why not boycott his movies, dramas, music with no future offers? Complete Boycott... Anger can take any number of guises, from mild irritation to outright fury and rage. As a form of emotion, most everyone experiences feelings of anger at various points throughout their lives. Anger can become a destructive force in a person’s life unless it’s managed constructively. With stress being a near normal part of daily life in today’s world, the ability to manage stress effectively can make a big difference in terms of one’s overall quality of life. I think Mohsin must seek medical help from reputed anger management rehab or mental disorder clinic before he seriously hurt some body. Millions of people live with various types of mental illness and mental health problems, such as social anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, drug addiction, and personality disorders. Treatment options include medication and psychotherapy. Mohsin is a angry revengeful man, danger to society and himself.

7 Ways to Earn Respect from Your Wife First, Respect cannot be demanded. You will always be disappointed. Just like the coach who yells and intimidates, threats and coercion are always lose-lose. Respect is earned. Next, understand that fear and respect are not the same thing. Now that the preliminaries are out of the way, here are 7 ways to earn your wife’s respect. 1. Treat her with respect. 2. Never demand respect. 3. Be a servant-leader in your home. 4. Consistently put other people first, including her. 5. Always follow through on your promises. 6. Volunteer in the community. 7. Carry your weight around the house. When men demonstrate humility, grace, and mercy at home, the strength of character that defines them as servant-leaders commands the kind of respect that is rooted in love and appreciation.
