Shaan is angry at Shahrukh Khan for dubbing Lion King in Hindi

Shaan Shahid is really upset with Shah Rukh Khan and it's about The Lion King.

It was announced 2 weeks ago that SRK would be dubbing Mufasa in the upcoming reboot. He recently posted a glimpse of the movie featuring Aryan Khan on twitter.

Were we surprised that The Lion King's Hindi dub reveal featured SRK so prominently? Yes, even James Earl Jones didn't get this kinda spotlight. But Shaan was upset and for a bigger reason, questioning the point to a Hindi dub of the film?

Writes Shaan, "Please don't destroy an iconic film with [a] Hindi dub. No difference in Shah Rukh's voice, it's like any other voice over he does for his films. At least change your voice expression for a lion's dub."

He adds, "James Earl Jones must be laughing. What Shah Rukh failed to understand if that the characters in the film are sketched according to the dubbing artists facial expressions... if you see Simba he resembles Matthew Brodrick."

Sounds like Shaan is angrier at SRK for the dub than the dub itself. Oh well, he can still enjoy the original reboot when it releases July 19.

Shaan...there is huge fan base of right from kids to old age people... who will enjoy the film in native language...it would be a huge marketing boost if the likes of amitabh bacchan and srk would do voice over for such movies...and it is surely likes of us to decide who gets the opportunity to do v/o ..

I don't always agree with Shaan's opinion, but here he is completely correct. As per usual, Hindustanis have taken something original and fresh, and ruined it with a complete lack of creativity.

Shawn is absolutely RIGHT. Shahrukh is not made for Lion King. He is most hyped celebrity in the world. Can't act well, can't speak well. He is lucky that he is in Bollywood, so still gets movies to act in to. He wouldn't have survived more than 2-3 movies in Hollywood.

Shaan, have you ever given it a thought that producer who offered Shah Rukh Khan must thought it over before hiring him? It seems there is some professional jealousy has dictated your criticism. Whether one like Shah Rukh Khan or not, however, there is no denying that he is an ICON in Bollywood and also has world-wide following.

He should shut his mouth as he has done a fab job in dubbing him. And his voice is whats gonna make the movie hit so he should really be quiet and watch the original movie if he doesnt wants to watch the dubbed version.

It's not Pak India trait problems it's individual problems otherwise why so many Pakistanis watch Indian movies, why so many like Kohli's and Sharma cricket. Shahrukh did well, and the majority of people from both countries want to see the movie in Urdu/Hindi language.

He has a point. SRK should try a little harder. We have gotten used to his voice. He needs to bring out the character a little more and try to be a little different from his other characters.

Channelize your angst towards something constructive. Don't rain on someone's parade. Dubbing the film makes it accessible to a huge population which doesn't speak English. Disney knows the market where the money is. Shaan needs to know that, too!

Unfortunately business dictates choice of language. Why just some 300 million potential viewers for an Urdu version as compared to 1.7 billion viewers for Hindi films? That's the value of soft power, whether cricket or films or culture or yoga. Slow and steady, my friends.
