Google paid homage to the iconic Amrish Puri on his 87th birth anniversary with a doodle of course!

On June 22, a sketch by Pune-based artist Debangshu Moulik appeared on the search engine honouring the late Bollywood actor for his contribution to cinema.

The actor was the poster child for never giving up on your dreams; he landed his first role at the age of 39. He even made it to Hollywood starring in Richard Attenborough’s Gandhi and Steven Spielberg’s Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.

He is most remembered for playing uber villain, Mogambo in the cult classic, Mr. India; the character's catchphrase line: "Mogambo khush hua" went on to become his signature. Puri passed away at the age of 72 in 2005.

Celebrating his life and work, Google said, "If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again—and you might end up like Indian film actor Amrish Puri, who overcame an early setback on the way to fulfilling his big screen dreams."

Yeah Amrish Puri is favorite in Pak, because he look like Pakistani, he spoke & act like Pakistani. The other lovely person was Om Puri, he openly said I am Lahori. We appreciate Bollywood for having produced such jewels.

I think he was in his 70s when he died, not at the age of 55 as the article claims.

When I heard the sad news of Amrish Puri passing, I felt I lost someone of my own. A great actor. Undoubtedly, the best villain the world would have ever seen. Respect from Bangladesh.

He was a very good actor. But a Google doodle on him is not done. At this rate there will be proposals, recommendations to be doodled as there were / are too many celebrities around. Angry reactions too may be seen.

Very scary but wonderful villain....doubt if ever has performed any positive role as always saw him killed miserably by valiant heroes.
