Proud parents Wasim and Shaniera Akram celebrate their son's university graduation

I hope you follow your dreams and build a future of happiness, says Wasim to his son on Twitter
15 May, 2019

Former cricketer Wasim Akram is in the States these days to attend his elder son Tahmoor's university graduation — and he couldn't be prouder.

Taking to Twitter, he wrote to his son, "One of the biggest gifts a parent can give their child is an education and today you have made me so very proud. The world is at your feet, my son, the foundation has been laid, I hope you follow your dreams and build a future of happiness."

Tahmoor has graduated from Alleghany College, a liberal arts college in Pennsylvania, USA.

The father-son duo were also spotted holding up Tahmoor's newly earned degree after his graduation:

Shaniera Akram also congratulated Tahmoor on his achievement, saying "Can’t wait to see what you do next in life and whatever you do you will make it look good!"

Well done both parents and son, you should be proud of this auspicious moment to have made it happen. Of course the parents deserve more praise to have patiently waited all these long years for their son who made it happen through sheer hard work and determination remaining focused to get graduated from a foreign institution of higher learning. Qasim is right in saying, that future is open now to this young man to fulfill his dream of having a better life for himself and his close family.

Congratulations but isn't this waseem Akrams son from his first marriage. Shainara is his second and younger wife who isn't old enough to be Taimoors mother. I think Waseem and Shainara have a daughter together who is very very young.

@Equinox1 Pakistan has no idea what liberal arts colleges really mean. The science curriculum taught in bachelors of science was brought in to make engineers and workforce. This type of learning was needed in the industrial revolution to maintain the machines and the production of goods. Very few took this learning and became independent thinkers, that is instead of saying 'this is how its always done,' to 'lets experiment and find a better way.' Liberal art is a concept where a child chooses to major in certain subjects (gain deeper understanding) and yet take classes across different disciplines. This helps in neuroplasticity of the brain as you try to start seeing the same scenario from multiple perspectives. for instance, building a software product, you not only understand the science behind programming but user experience, user psychology and behavior, design, business, marketing, and other aspects. It gives you a fuller picture and preps you to think critically.
