Looks like Ahsan Khan is ready to lighten up the mood with his upcoming drama, Shahrukh Ki Saliyan.

The actor is pairing up with Khudparast actor Ramsha Khan for a rom-com that is guaranteed to bring some laughs.

Speaking to Images, Ahsan revealed that "Dr Younis Butt of Hum Sab Umeed Se Hain fame has written this so you can expect some witty humour."

"[Younus Butt's] latest drama was Romeo weds Heer which was also enjoyed by many so this will be just as fun."

He added, "It's a play by Mazhar Moin, who's drama Haiwan was received very well by people. He also directed Quddusi Sahab Ki Bewah."

While this is not the first time Ahsan Khan has done comedy, this will indeed be the first time after a long hiatus, with Khan only being seen in much more serious roles.

About taking on a comedy serial, something he has relatively less experience in, Khan said, "I didn't want to do anything serious again. I wanted to have fun on the sets. Everyday that I'm doing this is so much fun and the cast makes this a lovely, lighthearted and happy experience."

"This drama is really enjoyable and funny. I haven't really done much comedy and haven't done any comedy at all recently, so not only is this a fun experience it's a fun learning process."

Apart from himself and Ramsha Khan in the lead, the cast also includes Javed Sheikh, Hina Bayat, Rehan Sheikh, Saba Faisal, "and many more."

Ramsha Khan made her debut with film Thora Jee Lay and cemented herself in the industry with many dramas, her latest being Kaisa Hai Naseeban.

The serial is predicted to go on air in Ramazan.
