Mubashir Saddique, the culinary vlogger from Shahpur who took YouTube by storm with his recipes channel Village Food Secrets, has just hit the 1 million subscribers milestone — and he couldn't be happier.

He posted a video on YouTube to share the news with his fans and humbly said that the accomplishment is no reflection of his talent but a testament of God's blessings, his parents' prayers and his fans' support:

Saddique has amassed this huge following by sharing his family's secret recipes on his "cooking reality show". He formerly worked as production manager at a soccer ball factory near Sialkot but quit his job to concentrate on making recipe videos full-time.

His recipes include eastern culinary delights but also burgers and pizzas (he baked the buns and the pizzas' base in an earthenware tandoor-oven built from scratch)!

The channel is not only popular in Pakistan but also abroad with significant traffic coming in from UK, US and Saudi Arabia. "They say the food, the landscape, my use of earthenware crockery etc., helps in reducing their yearning for home," he said of his expat followers in an earlier interview.
