After rumours of Captain Marvel's delayed release in Pakistan comes a bigger disappointment for fans.
According to a statement by cinema chain Cinepax, the film will not release in Pakistan at all.
Cinepax added that the reason for this is "Disney's regional office didn't give Pakistan the rights to run Captain Marvel."
Starring Brie Larson as the titular superhero, Captain Marvel is Marvel Studios' first female-fronted superhero movie that recently became one of the highest earning blockbusters ever led by a woman with earnings of $179 million in the US alone. The film has made $345 million internationally, but it appears these numbers will not be augmented by sales in Pakistan.
We have reached out to the film's distributors Eveready Pictures for a comment.
