Just what is Sonam Kapoor hiding in the Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga trailer?

According to the official synopsis, Sweety harbours a secret that “might not find acceptance in her family and society”

The trailer for Anil Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor's Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga is here and we have questions!

In the two and a half minute teaser, we see Sonam's character Sweety meeting a potential suitor Sahil Mirza (Rajkummar Rao) at her family's urging who are in a rush to get her married off (relatable much?). Sweety too has always dreamed of her happy ever after but she harbours a secret, one that “might not find acceptance in her family and society”.

In an earlier interview, Sonam had shared, “It's a love story, it is a story of a bond between a parent and child. In India, we go through a situation where we have to explain to our parents for our partners."

From what we can deduce, our guess is that Sonam's character in the movie is homosexual and she eventually ends up coming out to her family. The last time we saw a gay character front and center in a mainstream Bolly movie was Fawad Khan's Kapoor & Sons. We're also really excited to see Anil Kapoor and Juhi Chawla reunite on the big screen.

The upcoming flick marks the directorial debut of Shelly Chopra Dhar, Vidhu Vinod Chopra's sister. This is also father-daughter duo Anil and Sonam Kapoor’s first film together.

Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga hits cinemas on February 1, 2019.

Nothing is original or authenic in this movie like old version. From movie tittle font to hairstyle to fighting scenes to costumes to every character look and scenes are directly copied from other country movies.

Sonam is a terrible actress. She should quit acting. they should take some other actress like kangana.

@Mehwish Naeem She is alright too. You gotta watch Ranjhana to appreciate her acting skill. You will love it when she lashes on her friends in a meeting in their canteen about what agendas they will fight in the upcoming legislative election. I liked her, you might too. Kangana is awesome but Sonam is no less.
