Model Zara Abid is gearing up for her film debut with Azeem Sajjad's Chaudhry.

Speaking to Images, Zara said that she couldn't reveal much about the project but promises that her character "is not the basic stereotypical role every first-timer does in her movie." She also admits that she fell for her character the minute the story was narrated to her. "When I got the call and the lady on the other side explained it to me, I was convinced."

Chaudhry is being directed by Azeem Sajjad, whose name previously hit headlines for his 8689 project that starred Saba Qamar. The film's script has been written by Zeeshan Junaid. The rest of the cast is still being finalised, according to Zara.

Zara also revealed that the film's shoot will take place in Pakistan. "Do we have any better and more beautiful place than Pakistan in the world? It’s for Pakistanis by Pakistanis." The film is expected to begin shooting by the end of this year.

Does this movie deal mean that Zara is parting with her modeling career? Not at all, as Zara says, "modeling [has made me] what I am today, so how I can ever forget my first footsteps... I’ll do whatever comes my way."

"I have always been fond of dancing, acting and modeling. People know all about my modeling career, so now I thought I should give something new a try... I [am] lucky enough to have got the right call at the right time."

"I have high hopes with the film, let’s see how people accepts me as an actress now," she concludes.
