Salman Khan said Aishwarya Rai wouldn't have survived if he had hit her

An old interview of the actor surfaced on social media in which he was questioned about inflicting physical abuse on Rai

In the midst of the #MeToo wave happening in India, an old video of Salman Khan has resurfaced in which he addresses allegations of physical abuse against Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, his then girlfriend.

In the video, a journalist questions him if he's ever hit a woman (Rai had shared in the past that he had been physically violent with her on multiple occasions); Salman's response?

"I mean there was a journalist Prabhu Chawla who asked me this long time ago, so I just banged the table and he got startled, the table really broke."

He further added, "I mean, if I hit somebody, it's obviously a fight, I am going to be angry. I'm going to whack and give it my best shot. I don't think she would've survived it."

After they broke up in 2002, Rai spoke openly about their turbulent relationship, calling that chapter "the biggest nightmare" of her life.

What an uncouth barbarian? Talking about hitting women, even hypothetically shows that this guy is a monster.

Jacks up on steroids and painted abs and thinks himself as some hotshot. Such losers get bullied in real life if they aren't rich or influential.

Salman is one big spoilt bully who has much to account for. Yet, thanks to corruption and his celebrity status he gets away not just from killing protected wild life, hitting a female star colleague but even murder as when he ran over an innocent poor man who was sleeping on the pavement. Shame on us, the society that tolerates such criminals.

This man has such views about women. That is why he is still unmarried at age above 50 years.

Steroids have that much strength that can break a table?? I guess forget about a punch the table can't be broken by him without tool or throwing it from height in a whole day. It's not a movie it is real life he is talking about. although I have seen him breaking concrete walls, rods in a movie scene. In a public interview Salman body didn't support him when he tried to stepdown from just 3 feet higher stage to ground and he set on stage itself as he couldn't walk for a minute. Hypocrisy has no limit. We all are awarw about how they get those 8 pack abs and 15 inch biceps.

He openly beat up his ex-girlfriend Somi Ali in a restaurant after she broke up with him. Not sure what he means by hitting only lightly.

Classic sheer arrogance and lack of any shame or remorse by Salman Khan. He means to cast doubt on a women's testimony by implying that if he had indeed hit her as Ashwariya has stated then he would have done so thoroughly that she wouldnt have survived The fact that she survived to tell the tale according to SK means she is not credible?
