Mountain Dew made a special announcement in an event held in Lahore yesterday. The brand is yet again bringing adventurous gaming challenges to Pakistan.

The championship will collaborate with the internationally leading gaming giant, ESL with prize money of Rs. 1 Million up for grabs.

Event highlights

A ton of celebs and dewds attended the launch event yesterday at the Royal Palms, Lahore.

What is #DewGamersArena

Top gamers from Pakistan will compete against each other in CS:GO and Dota 2 for the title of best gaming team in the country.

The event marked the official launch of the competition, that will go on for the next three months to decide the ultimate champion teams for CS:GO and Dota.

The event unveiled a thrilling TVC announcing Mountain Dew Gamers Arena, followed by the trophy reveal for the competition.

Salman Butt, Marketing Director of PepsiCo, discussed the future of gaming in Pakistan and the potential it holds in the international arena. He further talked about the decision of Mountain Dew to provide a platform for passionate gaming enthusiasts to showcase their skills and represent Pakistan globally in the field.

Management of ESL was invited to discuss the competition mechanics and answer questions concerning the championship.

The event was concluded with an exciting performance by Call the band which raised the heartbeats of the crowd.

Gaming has been restricted to gaming dens and small scale college/university competitions in Pakistan but Mountain Dew Gamers Arena attempts to change the format of gaming in the country.

E-Sports is a real thing but why can't we have actual events for gamers with games recognised worldwide. Sure DOTA is popular but have you ever seen the League of Legends finals or the Fighting games community with games like Tekken or Street Fighter V? its been over a decade and we cant get past Counter Strike
