Celebs stand in support of Saba Qamar against online trolls

Adnan Siddiqui knows the culprit and he refuses to work with him in the future

Looks like we haven't really learnt anything from the Mahira Khan controversy.

The latest female celeb to fall victim to online trolls is Saba Qamar. The actor was in hair and make-up when someone snapped a photo of her without her consent and posted it on social media - where it went viral and was the beginning of name-calling, bashing and slut shaming.

Local celebs, however, are sick and tired of this tirade against their female counterparts and have in the past stood up for them. One of them is Osman Khalid Butt who doesn't hold back when the public starts moral policing females in the entertainment industry.

He took to Instagram and wrote: "Just heard about the all-too-familiar misogynistic, repulsive rhetoric that's swept the nation once BTS pictures from Saba's photoshoot were leaked (WITHOUT her consent)."

"First: you do not f*ck with Saba Qamar. Period."

"Second: For the love of God, stop looking for every excuse to drag your icons down."

"Third: STOP sharing these images/videos and stop commenting on them. If you want to speak out, speak out against the jahalat of whoever did this just for social media infamy."

Adnan Siddiqui knew the culprit and though he didn't name and shame him, he did say he will not work with him in any more projects.

The actor posted a photo of him and Saba and wrote: "Came through what’s being called BTS images of my colleague and a friend #SabaQamar’s recently done photoshoot which is spreading on social media like wildfire, I’m deeply saddened by this act, this is not us and we shouldn’t take pride in it in any manner! I totally condemn this and wouldn’t want to highlight the name of a man behind it but I’m not going to work for with him or anything associated with him ever!"

Another actor Aijaz Aslam, felt 'sad' that Saba was exploited for a 'cheap publicity stunt.'

"Today I feel sad that a colleague and one of the finest actor of Pakistan is being exploited by someone for a cheap publicity stunt ... it was just a simple BTS ( behind the scene) vdo during a photo shoot from which the screen shots were taken and made viral on social media ... its disgusting that people can go upto any extent for cheap publicity... saba you are a superstar and don’t let these haters demotivate you."

This is an example of using male privilege to help empower women. Perhaps the whole entertainment industry should take a leaf out of their books.

Unfortunately, All these recent controversies surrounding some celebrities targeted with harassment have a very peculiar common thing between them. That is their Out of Sync appearance in public .

The artists in pak really needs to support each other,on social media, go to their primers, and show good follow ship, this will promote good will in the public! The jealousy of some ,who are not that famous,is very disheartening! You will never become famous by pulling someone down! History has shown this as a fact, learn this lesson already!

Probably one of the most confused and hypocrite society on earth. I love how all standards are set towards women in our country. I don’t even have comments to for such useless non issue.
