Oscar-winning filmmaker Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy will also speak at a special segment titled ‘Beyond the Oscars’, where she will discuss her projects in the context of the challenges faced by Pakistan’s film industry.

The festival will be followed by a reception on 9 July at the United Nations where Ambassadors, UN officials and media representatives accredited to the UN will be invited, as well as members of the Pakistani diaspora.

“All the dynamism and diversity found in our films will be on display in the movies that will be shown during this Festival”, Ambassador Lodhi said, and hoped that this edition would prove to be as successful as the first one.

Picture is much far from ground realities in Pakistan. All full of Vanity and Fantasies. Our Coutry needs geniune heros/ Humans in showbiz not anemic & Geeks. Please growup. dont mimic Bollywood/Hollywood. Be yourself first

There's a big market for South Asian TV shows and movies in the Arab World. Zindagi Gulzar and Humsafar were dubbed in Arabic and were a hit. That's where Pak films need to focus. Not New York.

Congrats Pakistan. This is how a new industry is born. I am glad Bollywood has helped by giving opportunities to some artists, inspite the recent ban. We hope that Indian technology and software firms are welcomed into Pakistan so that they can train and give birth to a new industry inside Pakistan.
