6 summer styles that are trending in 2018 again
What is this year's summer style looking like?
According to Hum Showcase, we can bring back some of our favourite outfits from seasons past -- 'cos we spotted lots of comeback trends!
Here's what we see trending again:
1) Flowy pants
The printed flowy pants were a look from the '70s that went underappreciated. It couldn't hold up against the bell bottoms or the platform heels. But it had its niche and seeing them at the Hum Showcase, we think it's about time they get the love they deserve.
The hippie chic prints make them perfect for any occasion and the wide leg design means super comfort. You could be the laziest person in the world and still look like you have your life together. Who wouldn't want that?
2) Denim bags
Remember the early 2000s? With pop stars like Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears spelling the style trends, denim fashion was all the rage. And yes, while we don't miss everything about that trend (there is such a thing as too much denim), we sure did love denim bags! They were casual yet chic enough to make a statement.
Seeing Rizwan Beyg's collection, we were teleported back to that time and while we weren't impressed by the denim sari, we loved these statement denim bags and hope they're here to stay!
3) White on white
As the temperature starts soaring, darker hues are getting replaced by breezy ones and we gotta say, we’re big fans of chic albeit high maintenance white on white looks.
Looks that translate from ramp to reality effortlessly and leave room for accessories are big wins so we're glad that designers like Shahla Rahman, HSY and Umar Sayeed have brought this one fad back on our radars.
4) Neon
We're taking some inspiration from Misha Lakhani, Hussain Rehar and Mahgul for this one and it seems like the '80s are coming back in a big way. Just remember that less is more with high impact colours; single items go a long way, no matching neon separates, please!
5) Padded shoulders
Power shoulders are very much back in fashion and we're digging them! Zaheer Abbas, HSY Musafir and Mahgul show us how to work them effortlessly, whether you're wearing a floral dress or a blazer.
6) Bold stripes
If you're overwhelmed by the floral profusion on lawn every summer, Chapter 2 by Khaadi, Adnan Pardesy and Zonia Anwaar are giving you the go-ahead to embrace the stark simplicity of the stripe! Never mind that it was a Spring '17 trend worldwide.
Keep it simple with contrasting solids or make a busy graphical print more interesting, like Adnan Pardesy did.
