Nobel Prize winner and education activist Malala Yousufzai has returned to Pakistan today to attend a special ceremony to mark her achievements as an activist for girls education.

Her impending trip was kept tightly under wraps for security reasons, so her admirers at home were surprised to learn that she has returned this morning.

Twitter had a mix of reactions to the news of Malala's arrival in Pakistan.

Malala is accompanied on her trip by her father Ziauddin Yousufzai, Malala Fund CEO Farah Mohamed and Amiro­byn Thompson. Sources said Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi would receive Malala at the PM Office; however, the rest of her itinerary has been kept secret.
