Who wore the better red carpet gown at the Lux Style Awards 2018?

Who came out on top: Juggan Kazim in that slinky black Kamiar Rokni dress or Sadaf Kanwal's cobalt blue number?
Updated 07 Oct, 2019

This year's Lux Style Awards saw the likes of Ayesha Omar, Humayun Saeed and Sajal Aly among others descend upon Expo Centre for the one of the biggest nights in Pakistan's entertainment fraternity.

Let's be honest, deconstructing red carpet looks may just be the best guilty pleasure after an award show, and lucky for us, the LSAs red carpet was buzzing, for better or for worse! Although celebs seemed to be big on desi fashion this time around, there were some who rocked red carpet worthy gowns — and owned it.

Here's the lowdown on who impressed and who didn't:

Yay: Juggan Kazim

No Disney gown or valima jora for Juggan, she rocked this sleek black Kamiar Rokni number like she was doing it a favour! It fit well, it was the perfect length and she accessorized it just right with some chunky gold bling without going over the top with hair and make-up.

Although we gotta say it did seem a little familiar; it was way too reminiscent of what Mahira wore last year to the LSAs. But hey, it was slim pickings for the most part on the red carpet so we'll take it and you can't deny that she did look good!

Juggun's was the first picture we saw from the night on Instagram, taken right as she was heading out to the event. Safe to say, it kinda went downhill from there...

Meh: Sanam Saeed

How did she move around in this? Or sit? Or breathe?

Hey, fashion sometimes = pain, we get that. But it should be worth the trouble. It was a nice...ish dress, nothing to write home about. She wore some elegant baubles and looked pretty in pink, she always does but frankly, other than cinching her waist, the Rami Al Ali dress did little to complement her physique.

Yay: Ayesha Omar

Ayesha Omar's lean build is effortlessly framed in this Kristina Fidelskaya emerald green dress. The wrap around the waist, the playful slit and the soft hair waves gave her the perfect look for the LSA night. Seriously, we can't fault it!

Yay: Iqra Aziz

Not going to lie, when we first saw this Asim Jofa ensemble, it reminded us a little of cake fondant. But the more we looked at it, the more it grew on us.

Although we might have liked a little pop of colour somewhere, maybe a bright pout or a quirky clutch, the all-white everything look was sophisticated. Loved the earrings, adored her winged liner, just wish she had steamed the dress properly!

Nay: Sadaf Kanwal

How do you go wrong from the beautiful Azzi & Osta dress at the LSAs last year to this ruffled Zaheer Abbas ensemble this year?

Sadaf Kanwal was probably going for a similar look, because let's face it, her lean legs and long, toned arms should be showed off to the world, but this blue dress gathered in the wrong places, and made her left side look super bulky. Still digging those dangly statement earrings though!

Yay: Ainy Jaffri

The Balu Mahi actress was channeling some serious old Hollywood glam Tuesday night!

Her heavily embellished Choueiter dress hugged her in all the right places and the halter cut really flattered her petite frame. Speaking of halters...

Nay: Sabeeka Imam

Simply put, this look was not doing it for us. The make-up and hair was way OTT and the dress was way too bland.

Nay: Amna Baber

We're all for borrowing clothes from girlfriends but was raiding Cruella de Vil's closet really such a good idea in retrospect? Pity because we usually keep our eyes peeled for what Amo B will wear to the red carpet.

For future reference, it's probably not a great idea to mix zebra print AND feathers.

Yay: Fahmeen Ansari

Sana Safinaz may have done Aamina dirty but they came through for model Fahmeen Ansari! Even though she practically is the red carpet in this dress, we're really liking this simple yet sexy look she's got going on. And we're suckers for some good ol' peekaboo cut-outs so naturally, this gets a thumbs up!

Nay: Aamina Sheikh

We've got a repeat offender in the house people! Aamina Sheikh failed to impress last year with her poofy dress and this year wasn't any better. Tulle is clearly not her friend!

This grey Sana Safinaz outfit was equal parts gaudy and gloomy. And we don't even want to get into what her hair stylist was thinking covering half her face with her locks...

All looked good. The mix of desi ethnics with western , was a great mix. I thought ,the way Mahira khan wore white ethics dress ,shows that with modern twist, our traditional fashions ,are timeless!

I lked Sadaf Kanwl's and Sanam Saeed'd outfit while Iqra Aziz's mnumber was terrible and Ayesha Omar 's was typical. This just proves that fashion is relative and your opinion doesnt have to be the right one.

Why IMAGE correspondent get impressed with western gowns and consider that our own eastern dresses can't be worn on such occasions. Our movies and dramas are in our own languages and try to depict our culture so why when the awards are given western attire is so essential.
