Mahira Khan and Maya Ali urge for donations for a Shaukat Khanum cancer hospital in Karachi
The two stars attended Imran Khan's Dubai fundraiser yesterday to encourage donations to Shaukat Khanum Memorial Trust
Imran Khan annually hosts some of the season's most glam events – for a good cause.
Fundraisers for the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Hospital are always star-studded affairs whether they're hosted by Ayesha Omar or have Ali Zafar onboard as a performer.
This year, brand ambassadors of the SKMH Breast Cancer Awareness campaign, Maya Ali and Mahira Khan, attended the gala in Dubai yesterday.
The two stars, alongside Fakhar-e-Alam, appeared on stage, encouraging people to donate so they can move forward with constructing a hospital in Karachi.
"I promise you if you all just took a trip to Shaukat Khanum Hospital, you wouldn't need me or anyone else to even tell you to donate. You'd want to be donating, you'd want to be helping. Donate openheartedly, every penny of it goes to people who need it," appealed Mahira to attendees.
The event, which took place at the Atlantis Ballroom, wrapped up with a musical performance by Rizwan & Muazzam Ali Qawwal.
Turns out the fundraiser was a great success:
Last year, Ali Zafar was part of the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital & Research Centre fundraiser, which was a five-city tour in the US, which is said to raise over one million dollars for the construction of pediatric units at the hospital.
