Sadly, Padmaavat's lead cast has been told not to promote the film, reported Mid-day.

The controversy surrounding the film has yet to die down and makers of the film are steering clear of any harm being caused to the cast and crew involved.

The filmmakers cited issues of controversy being the main reason and wish to avoid further conflict lest a statement or remark made by the cast at promotions aggravates anyone.

A source told the Indian publication, "The makers want to keep promotional work minimal to avoid controversy. Also, the cast members are busy with other commitments."

Deja vu, people? It's almost the same as what happened during the promotions of Mahira Khan and SRK starrer Raees when Pakistani talent was banned from India.

Padmavaat already got hyper-publicity, without a single penny expense of the producers.

Too late. Releasing the movie now (and in this shape) will not restore the country's damaged credibility now. Society needs to learn tolerance.

Very wise. Also will get far right's approval before making a movie to avoid getting attacked and harassed.

A lot will disagree, bansali's movies more of a form over substance. Weak story is artistically hidden behind overwhelming sets.

The film will release without promotions. It won't need any after all this controversy.

Enough of Padmavat in this space. Life does not revolve around Padmavat.
