With her new show Rewind with Samina Peerzada, the acting veteran isn't just experimenting on a new digital medium, she's also trying to change the way talk shows take place.
Rewind with Samina Peerzada is Pakistan's first digital talk show and it offers more than just a casual chat with a celebrity.
The show's first episode aired last week on Friday, with actor Ahsan Khan as the first guest. The Udaari actor opened up about his journey as an actor, venturing into theatre, and even his first love. Also, did you know he has an identical twin? We didn't!

The first episode proved that Samina Peerzada wants to move the focus away from a celebrity's stardom to discover more about them as a person.
According to Ms Peerzada's assistant Minahil, "Samina has been thinking about doing this type of show for a while as a sort of continuation to what she did earlier in [her ARY talk show] Heart To Heart; a meaningful talk show where she interviews guests to talk about their journey, not just the career and what's happening in the latest time in their lives, but actually rewinding back to the start."
"From family and career to big things like life itself... Life, death, love, criticism and a lot of big motifs of life."
She adds, "The aim of the show is to show a different side to each celebrity. Showing what's behind the glamour and what it really means for that person to be a human being, how they see themselves past present and future."
For Samina, the concept of this talk show means that she herself discover more about stars who are her friends and colleagues.
Minahil explains, "Samina's experience has been wonderful on the show as a host. She said that she's been always discovering things about the person being interviewed right there and then alongside us viewers. So she's getting to know them even more, even though most of them are her friends and co-workers."
Apart from Ahsan Khan, we can expect Mahira Khan and Quratulain Balouch to come as guests. "The rest is a surprise, as we unveil the guests each week to keep the intrigue and suspense," says Minahil.
"No episode is the same. All the guests are so different and all have such unique perspectives and stories that you can't even imagine," promises Manahil.
Talking about the decision to go digital, she said, "Samina wanted to go completely digital as it's a whole new medium that people are using now. Social media is huge, that's how stars communicate with their fans and how the word spreads."
Rewind with Samina Peerzada will have an episode up every Friday at 9pm on its YouTube channel.
