PIA delivers for the first time - and it's a girl!

Twitteratis were quick to respond to the news and commended the crew for safely delivering a baby mid-flight
Updated 12 Dec, 2017

Who said PIA cannot deliver?

A woman went into labour on board PIA on Tuesday and the crew of Multan-bound flight PK 716 immediately came to her aid and assisted in the birth mid-flight.

That's right. Mid-flight, according to the airline's post on social media.

Images reached out to PIA's spokesperson Masood Tajwar regarding the delivery. "It was a premature delivery, to mother Kausar bibi and father Imran. They disembarked in Multan where they live in a nearby village," he revealed.

And as always, Twitter was quick to respond.

Congratulations were in order

Many commended the crew for their work

Come on, they deserve it

Some thought about the child

And some thought about the mother

Images has reached out to PIA for comment and is awaiting a response.

The news of safe delivery of a new born on board a PIA flight bound from Madina to Multan should rather come to anyone as a surprise. Since carriers abide by policy of restriction on travel of pregnent women on board a flight, occurence of an event like this also reflects a high degree of negligence and carelessness on the management who overlooked this important aspect. There may be a myriad of safety issues happening to such passenges in compromised health conditions, and for this restriction policy is alwas in place. But in this case the policy has been grossly violated.

PIA delivers for the first time. What a news, what a pun! I salute to the writer(s) of this piece. I hope one day PIA will also deliver good result befitting a national airlines. I heard about some other airlines( I cant recall the name off the top of my head) that in case of in-flight deliveries, the person born have the privilege of travelling in that airlines free of cost for the rest of his or her life. I am not sure if PIA will be able to afford such privilege in view of its precarious financial conditions that get deteriorated day after day. Anyways this news brought happiness and joy to my heart. pray for the well being of the mother and the baby.
