Gal Gadot has reportedly announced that she will only be Wonder Woman again if Warner Brothers cuts ties with producer Brett Ratner.

Warner Brothers has a co-financing deal with Ratner's company RatPac Entertainment that will end in 2018. The latter co-produced, and profited from, the first film. RatPac-Dune, a joint venture with Dune Entertainment, also co-produced Justice League in which Gal Gadot stars.

Ratner has been accused by six women of sexual harassment and misconduct. Another accused him of rape and recently, Ellen Page claimed that he outed her and humiliated her for her sexuality on set. After her initial report was published, Los Angeles Times reporter Amy Kaufman says she has been contacted by 45 more individuals with allegations.

An unnamed source tells Page Six that Gadot doesn’t want a series celebrating women’s empowerment to benefit a man accused of sexual misconduct

“She’s tough and stands by her principles,” the source said. “She also knows the best way to hit people like Brett Ratner is in the wallet. She also knows that Warner Bros. has to side with her on this issue as it develops. They can’t have a movie rooted in women’s empowerment being part-financed by a man ­accused of sexual misconduct against women.”

Just how much profit, you ask? The blockbuster grossed nearly $800 million worldwide so Ratner's company will take a healthy share.

A Warner Bros. insider explained, “Brett made a lot of money from the success of Wonder Woman, thanks to his company having helped finance the first movie. Now Gadot is saying she won’t sign for the sequel unless Warner Bros. buys Brett out [of his financing deal] and gets rid of him.”

This isn't the first time Gadot has taken a strong stance on the issue. She also backed out of a dinner honouring the director, where she was due to present him with an award. Welcome to 2017, Ratner, where hopefully, your inappropriate actions will have consequences.
