We've been excited for Rangreza ever since we heard their first track come out.

'Phool Khil Jaayein' by Abida Parveen and Asrar Shah has been one of the best songs to come out for a long time and that had us on the edge of our seats for the title track.

'Rangreza' the song features the vocals of J. Ali. The singer also did the music of the track which has been composed by Mohsin ali and lyrics have been penned by Azam Pasha.

We have to say, we're not smitten by this track. Perhaps we had our hopes too high with 'Phool Khil Jaayein' which is definitely unfair from our end. Who can top Abida Parveen? Also, we're aware that the two tracks are completely different in terms of genres, with 'Rangreza' with a pop rock song.

But even as a pop rock track, the song didn't quite cut it for us. It doesn't stand out from the many songs we already have of this genre. And also, what is with those 'Hey Ya's? It just seems too forced.

Having said that, the music has a very soundtrack feel to it. We can imagine it being played as background score, so it makes sense to have that for the title track. We do wish the beat was catchier.

So far we have two tracks out from the musical Rangreza and it's been one hit, one miss; We're still keeping our hopes up for the movie!

Rangreza is slated for release on December 21.
