Pakistanis went on a Twitter frenzy to reduce the price of a PS4 by 20K
Yayvo slashed the price of the beloved PS4 by almost 50% today, and Pakistanis on Twitter are responsible for it.
A few months ago, Twitter went on a retweet frenzy when Nevada teen Carter Wilkerson asked Wendy’s how many retweets would it take to get a year’s supply of free chicken nuggets.
When Wendy’s responded with 18 Million, the teen took to the Twitterati asking for support, which started pouring in from around the globe.
The post now holds the record for the most retweeted tweet of all times, and Carter got free Wendy’s nuggets to munch on for an entire year!
When the retweeting rush was going on, it was a Playstation lover who gave this idea to Yayvo too -
GamerFive, brother.
And Yayvo responded!
True to its word of putting customers first, Yayvo surprised its users by announcing a one-of-a-kind campaign in Pakistan, where every retweet of its #WhatThePrice tweet would bring down the price of a particular item.
Voting began, asking customers to spill ideas on the item they wanted at a slashed price.
And the winner was..
drumrolls
The PS4 that the Yayvo customer asked for in April, retweets being the ticket to get it at an unbelievably low price!
As soon as the word got out, Pakistan joined fingers and came together for the cause. After all, who doesn’t want to retweet for a PS 4?!
Some said it reminded them of the usual bargaining that our ammis do at the shop —
Others declared it as the real tabdeeli in Pakistan —
A 100 retweets resulted in flat Rs 2,000 off the price in under an hour!
And they kept rolling in, making the price unbelievably low!
Thanks to the Twitterati, the price of the PS4 worth Rs 32,500 has been brought down to - wait for it – Rs 16,900.
The campaign went live from 11 AM to 5 PM, and the PS4 would now be available for purchase on the final reduced price between 6 PM to 11 PM today, August 4, 2017.
BRB, we gotta get our hands on the PS4 too before it sells out.
And yes, please bring us more of these #WTP moments, Yayvo!
