Did Saba Qamar make the most perfect Bollywood debut or what?

Not everyone can hold their own against Irrfan Khan but Saba Qamar has managed just fine in Hindi Medium. Indian journos have been generous with praise, and it turns out she has new fans in Bollywood too!

Kahaani star Vidya Balan fished out Saba Qamar's phone number to send her a personal message of appreciation for her work, Saba revealed in an Instagram post.

Vidya wrote to Saba, "Just wanted to tell you that you were amazing in the film. It's a character that one could easily dislike for being too pushy but you humanised her and made her believable and likable. Really, wow!"

Saba, of course, was over the moon.

"Being praised by one of the best actresses of Bollywood is a huge deal for me. I'm truly touched and honoured," she wrote. "Such a sweet gesture by her to take out the time to appreciate my work.It's the best feeling ever when someone you admire so much, praises and appreciates your work."

Other Bollywood stars, like veteran actor Rishi Kapoor, has also tweeted appreciation for Saba Qamar:

I watched the movie and I can add that Saba was awesome. She didn't look one bit an outsider. The control over her language or dialogue delivery made her one amongst the many accomplished hindi actors. She wore a bindi with such ease and her visit to temple, gurudwara or church in the movie was no different to her visit to mosque.

Brilliant. Well deserved praise. Saba has clearly won the hearts of Indo Pak audience with her awesome acting and that too alongside Irfan Khan. To me, she is a much better acting prospect as compared to Eye Candies like Mahira

Vidya has no parallel in Bolly wood world. She is the actress and she is the art of acting. If you ask me who is the greatest actress India produced, it is Vidya. And when she lavishes praises on Saba so profusely it means there is more in Saba that what meets the eye. It takes time tol understand a great actress be it Vidya or Saba. We salute both. One more thing. Vidya even now does not know that she is the greatest of the great. The world of art will shine bright with what vidya gave it.

Separated by Political boundaries but connected by shared culture. I guess people to people connection must remain intact. This movie is another milestone in right direction.
