Are Bollywood divas and Pakistani fashion the next Pak-India cultural exchange trend?

After Pakistani designer Tena Durrani bagged the chance to dress Kareena Kapoor-Khan for her first post-baby shoot in Asiana Wedding magazine, fellow designer Saira Rizwan roped in Shilpa Shetty to model for her latest bridal collection.

The shoot, which took place in London, will also run on Asiana Wedding magazine.

Saira Rizwan said to Images, "It was really exciting to shoot with Shilpa, one of my favourite personalities from across the border. Her image resonates perfectly with our brand and that made her ideal choice for this shoot."

Here she is perfecting her smoulder.

Shilpa has typical south indian face, it can pull off silk and gold, but not sharara and jhoomar. She is beautiful no doubt, but her face seems incomplete without bindi and lacks nazakat needed for mughal attire...Kareena, anushka are better suited for such clolthes, Shilpa, deepika are southern beauties whi can carry kanjeevarams better

I am sure there are more beautiful and capable female personalities in Pakistan. Why then a local firm go for international and ontop the most arch rival of them to promote there product line. Just two things come in mind. Lack of local social entertainment and fashion industry in Pakistan is near to zero and intellectual copy right no where to be found. And secondly our tax system is incapable of handling modern business needs. It's not that business community is not willing to pay taxes it's because our tax laws are bend towards facilitating corruption​ and business community does not see there tax rupees being used in development of Pakistan and society in general.

Activities like this, involving both countries, must be encouraged and enhanced. That is the only way confrontation and differences will be toned down and ultimately eliminated. People are the same, culture is the same, habits, traditions, customs, language are the same so why this animosity? Increase in people-to-people contact, increased cultural events and pooling our talent and knowledge together is the way to go.

of course they need Indian buyers to buy their expensive clothes. I wonder are they aware of make in India campaign by bjp which in short means their population will only buy locally produced clothes not their designs

Let's be honest indian women dig pakistani clothes. I live in US and everytime my wife goes to pakistan our indian neighbors pay her to bring pakistani clothes for them. They say pakistani clothes look more attractive than Indian.

@Jawad Pakistani I am a fan of Pakistani salwar kameez too. Luckily I get to buy them where I live. It's not better than India but a different style which is elegant. Please ask your neighbor to visit Anokhi, Cotton etc next time she visits India. Would love to visit Karachi for shopping. Thank you:-)
