Raees will release in Pakistan, but we'll have to wait for it

Raees' release will signify an open signal for the influx of Indian films in Pakistan

As Raees releases in India, UAE, USA and UK today, cinegoers in Pakistan wonder: How long till we get to see the much-awaited Shah Rukh and Mahira Khan-starrer?

The good news is that the committee formed by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to look into the screening of Indian films locally has presented a summary to the Prime Minister's Office and he is expected to issue a No Objective Certificate (NOC) for the screening of Raees and Hrithik Roshan-starrer Kaabil soon.

However, the films may take some time to reach Pakistani screens.

"We can expect that it will take at least two days after the NOC has been issued for the films to be screened," a senior official at Hum Films told Images.

Hum Films is jointly releasing Kaabil and Raees with Eveready Pictures in Pakistan.

The release of Raees and Kaabil will signify an open signal for the influx of Indian films in Pakistan.

An informal ban on Bollywood was announced by various cinema owners late September in response to the Indian Motion Picture Producers Association (IMPPA)'s ban on Pakistani actors, singers and technicians from working in India till “normalcy” returns. The ban from India was a reaction to the Uri attacks in Kashmir.

Only Raees travel by train. Poor people travel by air. There was fan frenzy to see the actor travelling by train Mahira Khan is a talented actor. She is being promoted in the song "UDI UDI" on Indian television channels. It is hoped that the Pak viewers will be able to enjoy the movie in their nation.

Raees is nothing but making virtue out of a illicit alcohol vendor and portraying him a Robinhood and liberal mafia man. Waste of time and money.
