I feel he knew his time was up, says Junaid Jamshed's son

Taimur recently took to Facebook and shared a touching testimonial of his father
Updated 19 Dec, 2016

Junaid Jamshed's tragic passing was a shock to the nation.

While fans and friends uploaded pictures and videos with and of him as treasured memories, his son Taimur Junaid just shared a stirring testimonial of his father.

He remembered him not as a singer, evangelist, or business magnate, but as a family man.

"To me my dad was just my dad," he wrote. "Everytime he came home we all got excited and would run from our rooms to meet him. At the end of the day we would get on with our thing. Because he was just our baba and we knew he wasn't going anywhere. Milna hoga, baat karni hogi he's there, just like a dad would be for his kids."

He fondly remembers his father's concern for other people.

"People from around the world came for his janaza and explained he would keep in touch with everyone. He would call them, message them, be concerned for them. It was because he was always busy reminding everyone he knew that he was thinking of them and praying for them."

The outpouring of love told Taimur that JJ may have been his father but "he was family and someone special to just about everyone."

In one of his final interviews in September, Junaid Jamshed shared his views on death:

JJ was a blessing for Pakistan, There was something about him that made you listen to him and maybe the reason for that was that what he said was from the bottom of his heart. I feel as though I've lost a family member even though I've never met him in real life.

I don't know why don't we remember good things about our fellows, we just love discussing little mistakes...we are not angels...we all make mistakes. We must learn to forget and forgive.

He has become someone special for me as well. Never really followed him actively...but some of the things that surfaced after his death proves that he was genuinely naik and has the message of love and unity that should be spread.

I was in primary school when "Dil Dil Pakistan" song hit all across Pakistan. I loved the song and whenever PTV used to play it, I'd run to TV room to listen and watch it because there was no other source for me to listen it. The years passed on but "Dil Dil Pakistan" proved an evergreen song. I don't know why but I always liked J.J. more than anybody else in the band. And when he turned to religion, I liked him even more. The news of his sad demise in air crash brought tears in my eyes. I've promised myself to change myself and follow the same path that J.J. was heading to. May his soul rest in peace! Ameen!

My very first and last memory of him is this tall skinny but well mannered guy wearing a lewis and a plain tshirt walking out of rohail hayat's home near adiala in Rawalpindi, rohail was skinny too back then :) the year was 1989, I was still in school and remember being excited as a kid in a candy store, and the impression never faded away. Everyone leaves, what remains are the good memories they leave behind. I only have one regret that Rohail didn't invite VS to do a song on Coke Studio, would have been sooo good !!!

Dying unnatural death - preferable in blood and gore is all it has sadly become to be a Muslim. Not to live a life of honesty, humblance, service to humanity, contribution to knowledge, raising a good society and generation which is much harder than dying. That tell the story of todays Islamic world. RIP shaheed Islamic World!

@Haji he did contributed to humanity , society and his country. His charitable work will live till humanity. Instead of questioning others , you should be questioning yourself and introspecting your contribution in the society.

Life is about living to one's full potential, about enjoying life to the fullest, about sharing one's talents, skills, knowledge, happiness, sadness to the fullest with other fellow human beings., about helping others (all living creatures) and sharing in their happiness and sadness. Life is not about dying, or taking other peoples lives, it is very important to realize and debate what is the purpose of life, because if dying a martyrs death is what ultimately life is about then this would make life really not worth living, in most instances. We could never create, appreciate the universe in all its splendor, appreciate others, through our senses. Live life to the fullest.

Like Imran Khan, Junaid Jamshed is an achiever, in practically every thing he touched! Junaid Jamshed is, though, a better person as he has no ego, a true Muslim - in deed!
