Singer Salman Ahmad has dropped out of a cultural event taking place in India.

The Junoon frontman announced this move on Twitter earlier today, saying that "I'm canceling my forthcoming participation in a cultural event in Goa to protest the violence & blood letting on LOC."

On Wednesday, Indian troops hit a passenger coaster in Azad Jammu and Kashmir's Lawat area, killing 10 people and injuring 11 others.

The coaster was en route to Muzaffarabad. Lawat is located in the upper belt of Neelum valley that straddles the restive Line of Control (LoC).

The rising political tension between Pakistan and India has severely affected cultural exchange between the neighbouring countries. Artists from both sides of the border have voiced concern against the mutual bans; on India's front Pakistani artists have barred and Pakistan reciprocated this by temporarily banning Indian films.

Images has reached out to the singer about the concert and is currently awaiting a response.

Bravo. Someone finally saying no on a principled stand against their own personal interest and cheap fame.

I think Pakistans stance should be same until India stops its hostility.
