The Republican made controversial remarks in December last year, one of his many, when he called for a ban on Muslims entering the U.S. after a mass shooting in California.

Needless to say, Muslim Americans are struggling to accept his shocking victory.

They're worried about their safety, the well-being of their families.

To say the least, everyone is freaked out.

Muslim women are afraid of wearing their hijab in public.

In fact, they are being advised that they shouldn't for their own safety.

Trump's victory brought even a 5-year-old to tears.

One thing's for sure: hard times are ahead.

As an American Muslim, I am NOT concerned. We are one of the highly educated, law abiding and professional community in the USA. We are tax paying citizen. We are not going anywhere and we are permanent part of American landscape. If Trump thinks otherwise bring him on. Yes, like anyone else we may have to face lone loonies who may confront us.

Pakistani American are well educated and professional people in USA. There is always a bad apple in a basket so that doesn't mean that whole basket is bad. If someone is a permanent resident then work hard without the concern who is president. USA is for all hardworking people.

Almost all kids or parents or grandparent who have migrated to America have sent or sending their kids to public schools. Very few send their kids to private schools, even those who can afford paying the private school tuition quite often send their kids to public schools Public schools use property taxes to pay for the cost, and we pay thousands of dollars of property taxes each year, public school is not charity, we pay for it from our hard earned income. I have not seen any bias in public schools in America, it could be some but fall under exceptions, cannot be generalized.

We should lead our lives as we have before Trump, s victory. There is no law to ban Hijab in the country. If some tries to pull your Hijab , you should call the police and the police will arrest the person for hate crime. Civil liberties union will never stand for such actions. If you think your life and well being in danger,, you can skip the Hijab for few days.

American Muslims are no different than any other American. As long as you are a law abiding citizen you have nothing to fear. No country in the world would tolerate terror ! Those who are familiar with American system know that you are good. Hilary Clinton accepted defeat graciously & advised her supporters to go with the new President Elect Mr Donald trump so did President Obama. This is not the first time a Republican has been voted as President. Come on stop Crying wolf all the time ..... I suggest those who differ should find some other alternative.

Great , I am against all the xenophobia about trump , at least he is straight not like other presidents who never said anything but did everything against !but Muslims have a problem with the religion not being spiritual religion but political as well where everything has to b what they think is right according to their faith but not accepting a little which is against even if that is right , so grow up this is a reaction to wat has been happening throughout the world and time to question the teachers and interpreters of faith !!
