Here's some good news for drama viewers: TV show host Anoushey Ashraf has signed on to play a journalist in the upcoming serial, Saanp Seerhi.

"I play the role of a young journalist, who has recently returned to Pakistan from the U.S. She wants to do good work, take up real causes and is full of integrity and honesty. However, things get complicated when she takes up a complex issue that lands her in dangerous waters," shared Ashraf.

While many of her peers have gravitated towards acting, taking on project after project, Anoushey has remained very selective with what she invests her time in.

"I've always given everything I do my best shot. I'm starting my morning show on DawnNews soon and I don't want to bite off more than I can chew. Hence I make sure that whatever work I take up is worth it. This project resonated and so, my expectations are high with this one. I won't lie, I'm a little nervous!" explains the host.

The cast of the show includes Samina Peerzada, Sajid Hassan, Yasir Mazhar, among others.

Anoushey says working with them was a dream come true: "I felt like a little kid saying my lines in front of them; they're superstars! That being said, they've all been extremely encouraging through and through!"

The play, which has been written by Umera Ahmed and produced by Misbah Khalid and Mahrukh Amin, is slated to hit our television screens in January next year on Express TV.
