Sanjay Dutt signs on to film about Afghani child suicide bombers
Sanjay Dutt has signed on to play an army man in Torbaaz, a film about child suicide bombers in Afghanistan.
His character will serve as a source of hope for children of war.
According to The Hindu, Sanjay loved the script of Torbaaz and immediately gave agreed to play the lead.
“I am keen to be a part of films that are highly content driven. I want to create a memorable slate of films for my fans,” he said.
Produced by Raju Chadha and Rahul Mittra, the film is the second venture of director Girish Malik. Girish is known for his debut directorial Jal (2014), whose background score by Sonu Nigam and Bickram Ghosh was nominated to the Oscars for Best Original Score.
The director was all praise for his actor: “I am amazed at how easily and organically Sanju got into the world of Torbaaz. He is a very intelligent and evolved actor who has so much to offer. He was the first choice for me."
The film's shoot is likely to begin in mid-2017 in the Middle-East and Afghanistan.
Sanjay is also working on his biopic with his Munna Bhai series director Rajkumar Hirani and Ranbir Kapoor, who is said to play him in the film.
