Sarmad Khoosat to be awarded Pride of Performance
All it took was a status update on Facebook from the Manto director and soon enough Twitter saw an outpour of love from local celebs.
Sarmad Khoosat shared news of receiving the Pride of Performance award on Facebook saying, "Pride of Performance. Thank you Pakistan :)" .
The director, who has been internationally recognised for his films like Manto and TV serials like Humsafar, will be awarded one of the highest civil awards by the Government of Pakistan. The award, which is announced on Independence Day, 14th August, is presented to the recipients on the 23rd of March every year.
Since the news broke, celebrities took to social media to show their love for Sarmad. From Mahira Khan to Humayun Saeed, stars congratulated the director for his contribution to the entertainment industry.
And Sarmad was humbled by all the love he received, he thanked all of them individually for sharing in his happiness.
