Fawad Khan, Deepika Padukone set the stage on fire at India Couture Week 2016

With Fawad's charm and Deepika's beautiful looks, we're hardly surprised
Updated 21 Jul, 2016

Fawad and Deepika stole the show at IIFA 2016 when they each went down on one knee for the other. This time they came together as showstoppers for Manish Malhotra at FDCI Indian Couture Week 2016 and their chemistry was just as electrifying, if not more.

Titled "The Persian Story", Malhotra's collection was nothing short of regal. His showstoppers for the night, Pakistani actor Fawad Khan and Bollywood actor Deepika Padukone were dressed as royalty on the show.

Here we have it, folks: @fawadkhan81's much awaited walk for @manishmalhotra05! #FawadKhan #ManishMalhotra

Reportedly, Fawad was nervous about his show, though he has been a showstopper for several local designers, the ICW was 'daunting' for the actor.

According to NDTV, when asked if it was his first time on the runway in Delhi, Fawad said: "In Delhi for the first time? In India for the first time. Obviously (it was) very daunting."

"It is my India runway debut and it was daunting for me. I have probably walked the ramp three times and this is the fourth time. But it was an absolute pleasure to walk with Deepika for Manish," the actor told DNA India.

Nervous? Fawad? Psshh.

Fawad opened the show for the coveted Indian designer in a black kurta and deep maroon palazzo-pyjama.

Deepika, who was chosen to close the show, wore an off- shoulder choli and a train lehenga with intricate gold embroidery.

The designer was all praises for the Pakistani actor and couldn't stop gushing about both his showstoppers.

"I am so thankful to Fawad for being here and dearest Deepika. I know her since she was a model and her first film. It's a very special moment," said Malhotra.

@Faisal sadly the bonding is all one sided from India. Dont see any Indians playing lead roles in Pakistani movies or walking the ramps in Pakistan.

@timetostopthis We wish we could see top Indian stars working in our country as well. However, our film industry is so small and financially weak that it simply cannot afford to have Indian superstars on board. It's budget issue rather than acceptance, bonding or political matters. Bollywood stars are highly respected and immensely popular in Pakistan. In fact, stars like Naseeruddin Shah, Om Puri and Nandita Das are working in low-budgeted (as per Indian standards) Pakistani movies and that's very nice of them. We hope this trend will grow as our film industry grow stronger financially.

With all this, will Fawad go back to Pakistan? Or he will follow Adnan Sami's footsteps? Difficult question to answer.

Good to see talented Pakistanis get opportunities in India.Let them spread friendship between two sides.A good slap on the face of terrorists and fundamentalists.Peaceful co-existence is possible if Pakistan adopts full fledged democracy and secularism.

@Ajay vikram Singh nothing wrong in looking pretty (or in this case handsome). Not everyone goes for the rugged sinewy type and might prefer a more refined look (hardly mama's boy).
