Trouble between Shaandaar co-stars? Not really.

Alia Bhatt, who has achieved staggering success since her early years in Bollywood, had the chance to work with her role model Kareena Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor in upcoming flick Udta Punjab.

In an interview with Filmfare, the actress revealed that she got to spend more time with Bebo on set than her Shaandaar co-star Shahid.

"I don’t have any scenes with Kareena in the movie. Because it’s about four different lives, all characters don’t cross paths. But I did get to spend time with her on set since Kareena and Diljeet (Dosanjh) had already started shooting, I joined later and then Shahid came in. I went a few days earlier because I had to do some research in Punjab so I used to go sit on set with her. We used to chat and we were just getting to know each other," said Alia.

However, her experience with Shahid this time around was not the same as when they were filming for Shaandaar.

"With Shahid, it was lovely. We had a good time while shooting Shaandaar, but this time we were busy in our own thing. It’s a very different and engaging film. We shot together for around four to five days. We were both in different zones. We didn’t even talk to each other on set," she revealed.

Alia Bhatt plays the role of a drug addict in the film and was completely new to her character.

"It was unlike anything I have played before or anything that I can relate to. That was the challenge. This character was completely new and alien and a completely new space for me," she said.

With the help of director Abhishek Chaubey, the actress was able to put herself into the shoes of the character.

"There was no personality or character references that I got. With the help of the script and by talking to director Abhishek Chaubey, asking him questions like, what she is going through? What she feels? What is she like? What are her natural instincts? I created an imaginary person and it was literally me being that imaginary person," added Alia.

Udta Punjab stars Shahid Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor and Diljit Dosanjh.. It is slated to release on 17th June.
